Not much new - Yet
So this is going to be short and sweet so I can get to bed and get some sleep. I weigh 142 right now, which is awesome. I still have about 12 to 15 lbs to go to be at my 'ideal' weight. I'm on the right track and hoping to make it there by the end of the year. The holiday season is just around the corner so it might be tough but I'm going to try.
I have some new pictures to post but haven't had time to do it. So I will get them on the blog as soon as I can. I decided to go back to work in the Corporate world and quit my part-time job that I was working on the weekends just to fight boredom. I am making some changes to the way we run our Herbalife business because I know the products are great and I love using them myself but I didn't like the way we were trained to run our business - so I'm going to do things my way instead of the 'suggested' way. I'll let everyone know what has changed once I implement my plan but it will be a while before everything is ironed out.

Excited
So today I tried on some jeans to figure out what size I am in now. All of my size 12 jeans are way too big and my husband, David, says that they are sagging to much in the butt so he wants me to get a couple of pairs that fit. Anyway, I tried on a 10. Too big. I tried on an 8 and they fit but still a little loose. So I tried on a 6 and they fit perfectly. Whoo-hoo!
I haven't posted measurement and weight stats lately on either David or myself so I need to do that soon. Last time I weighed in, I was at 144 but I know I have fluctuated back and forth between 146 and 143 over the last couple of weeks. I am still losing inches though and I can tell the difference in the way I look and feel. I really am hooked on these products. I love the shakes and now I even crave them over food sometimes because they are so good.
Anyway, that is my quick update. I'll check in with a new picture and weight and measurements pretty soon.

Lead Generation - Worst Experience Ever
Ok, so I have posted a couple of entries about lead generation. It was a true roller coaster ride that ended in disaster for us. We love selling Herbalife products but we will NEVER do Herbalife's recommended lead generation programs again. If you are an Herbalife Independent Distributor and have not participated in their lead generation program (Paid Packs and Call Me Leads), my advice to you is to proceed very cautiously and do not participate unless you have several thousand dollars to risk. When you go through the Herbalife training, they really push their lead generation systems on you - especially paid packs. You learn that this is where the money is made, they send you voicemails from others that are successful using Paid Packs, they focus their training webinars and conference calls around the lead generation, your mentor pushes the paid packs - it is everywhere. You start to believe all the hype - but beware because they never tell you about all the refunds you'll be giving out of your own pocket (and the credits are never returned to your bank account), about the leads complaining to the BBB (though they do help validate your business if this happens), about the aftermath of people backing out after they decided to sign-up for the business and back out later. They tell you you'll do over $10K in business to start out - and it only grows from there. However, we think it is the luck of the draw - some get lucky and some don't. I imagine more get bad leads than what we will ever know. There are good lead generation systems out there that are much less expensive - I suggest trying them out on your own rather than going through Herbalife's program. We will be trying some of these others after we recover our losses from using Herbalife's program. When we do, I will be sure to keep everyone updated on how we do.

They are easy to sell and are worth the money to get started in the business as a supervisor. Holding Steady
I am holding steady at 145 right now. I got lazy and didn't use my products consistently that last couple of weeks - just here and there. It let me maintain my weight but the way I was eating over the holiday I wasn't able to lose anymore. I'm back on track with the products so I'm expecting to lose more weight in the coming weeks. My goal is to be at 125 by the end of the year so I am working on being more consistent - especially during holiday seasons.

On Second Thought
I recently posted about lead generation and after today, I think I have to change my tune a little bit. I brought in two new people on my team today by using the lead generation system and am feeling much more comfortable talking to people now. I was so nervous when I first started that it made me sick to my stomach but now I'm warming up to it and I sound more natural on the phone - not just reading the script they provide in training. In addition, rather than killing myself being on the phone 14 hours a day, I decided to make the phone calls on my schedule and when I felt like talking rather than forcing myself to be on the phone. That seems to make a world of difference. I get in those 'unsocialable' moods sometimes and the last thing I want to do when I feel like that is talk on the phone all day. So now that I'm doing it my way - I feel better about it and am seeing much better results.
Not only is my team growing but my retail business is growing. I have officially gone international with my newsletter and am reaching over 100 customers/potential customers. I plan on adding another 50 to 100 people to my newsletter this month. My business may very well bring in my goal of $10K in business this month. I think that is a terrific goal to reach - especially since I've only been doing this business a little over two months. If I come in slightly under that goal, I'm still doing really well.
I'm picking up my retailing a little more this month by adding parties to my advertising arsenal. I have one already booked for October but I'm working on getting at least one booked for this month and that should bring in more retail business. The great thing about this customer-base is that once they start the products and fall in love with them - they come back month after month. These products are high quality and deliver what they promise and that, in-turn, builds customer loyalty and helps build your retail business.
I'm more excited than ever before about my business and that is pretty excited - since I already can't shut-up about the great results I'm getting on the products. I'll post new pictures this week. The cool thing is that everywhere I go, I am being complemented on my weight loss and people DO notice.

A quick update
I officially weigh 145! I have lost 14 lbs in a little over two months. My goal was to lose 30 lbs by the end of the year. I am almost there. Since starting this program, I feel a lot better and have a lot more energy. I sleep better at night and no longer have the leg pain (symptoms of RLS) that I was suffering from at night. I do not get sinus headaches anymore - I still get the allergies but not the headaches, which is a big plus in my book. I love these products and recommend them to anyone trying to lose weight, maintain their weight or even bulk up - we have a program that can be customized for anyone and everyone. Lead Generation
So David and I tried the lead generation program that is offered through Herbalife (they are an outside vendor - not related to Herbalife). This is where a lot of the people in this business make the big bucks. They use this lead generation system to build their teams and thus their business, since it is an MLM company. The leads we received were people that wanted to start their own business and they either had already purchased the training packs or wanted someone to call them to give them more information about getting their business started.
Over the month of August, I was on the phone over 14 hours every day, except for Sunday. Had the averages worked out the way they do for the majority of people, I would have done over $10K in business for the month of August. Some of the leads worked out but most of them weren't interested or didn't realize that starting your own business meant paying to get your business started. After hours and hours of working the leads, my averages didn't pan out like most people's averages do. We ended up losing money rather than making money - but I think it is just luck of the draw.
I attended a daily call where I listened to others doing the same program that I was doing and the majority of them actually met their goals and the averages turned out correctly. However, there were others on the call that were having the same luck as us. I know it wasn't my lack of work effort or not following the step-by-step plan - because I followed their plan to a 'T' and even worked more than required. I'm not bitter - this is a business and you win some and you lose some. We lost this round but we are going to try other methods - on our own- to grow our business.
One thing that truly amazed me was how many people think you can start your own business for free - how do they expect to get inventory, keep their websites running, accept credit cards, advertise, etc. with no money? I even had one that wanted me to pay for her business and then if it worked out she would pay me back - REALLY? If I wasn't just starting my business and I was making a six-figure income, I might do that for my friends or family - but I would never do that for someone that I didn't know at all. Then their were others that asked you to call them and when you called they chewed you out for calling. That happened mostly on Mondays. I decided at that point that I was not doing Monday calls any longer. People are too grumpy on Mondays and I like to deal with nice people on the phone.
As far as the business goes, I believe in the products we sell because I have experienced first hand what they can do for you - so I know this business is a good business and I want to keep doing it. I just like the retail side of it more than the MLM side of it. I know the MLM side of it is where most people make the money - the royalties and such - but I'm not good at trying to sell people on starting their own business. I am good at retailing the products because I can prove that they work and I believe in them whole-heartedly. I'm going to focus my business on the retail side and if we build our team in the process, so be it and if we don't, we don't. I won't be upset over it. I do have people on my team now and I know that once they get into the products - they will love the business as much as we do. The products are what this business is all about - and the products are awesome.
My next step in the business is to do some print advertising - I have a lot of ideas up my sleeve and can't wait to get them started. However, I am getting bored hanging out at the house so I'm going to find a part-time job and do the Herbalife business around it. Then, I can use the extra cash to put back into growing my Herbalife Independent Distributorship and do more of my own advertising ideas. Wish me luck - and read my product results guys. These products really do work and are all they promise to be.

My Amazing Picture - Or At Least It Amazes Me...
This is going to be a really short post because I want to go watch a movie on TV and wind down before going to sleep.
Remember the person in the pictures above - from June and July? The day I started Herbalife, I weighed 159. Well look at me now guys....
I weighed in at 148 today. The jeans I have on in this photo used to be one of my favorite pair of jeans - they fit snug before and now they fall off of me. They do not fit in the waist, rear or legs because I have lost so many inches. I think I mentioned before that I have to put new holes in my belts because they are all too big now.
I don't want to go shopping yet because I still have another 23 lbs to lose before I am at my goal weight. I'm going to hold off on shopping and cinch up my jeans for as long as I can so that I can really enjoy my shopping experience.
Periodically, I'm going to do a 'blog fashion show' with pictures of me in my old clothes. You'll be amazed at my results.

Our Business Is Exploding - Have You Heard That Before?
If you have talked to us lately or talked to anyone in the Herbalife business, you are going to hear these words - "Our business is EXPLODING". Guys, it is so true! These words are not just sales tactics trying to get people to join our team. Infact, we screen people before we officially invite them to join us because we want successful and determined people working with us - mostly because we work closely as a team and we don't want to work with people that don't want to work. And let me tell you, we don't need to pull cheesy sales tatics - our business is really exploding at the seams.
As I promised when I first started this blog, I was going to focus primarily on the product results but that I would give updates on the business side as well. I haven't given an update on the business side in a while so I wanted to share with everyone that I am on track for doing $10K of business this month and moving up to World Team if I meet my goals. As everyone that personally knows me is aware, I am very dedicated to whatever I participate in and when I believe in something, I go at it 150% or more. I believe in this business and it is paying off for me. I am still staying at home -haven't had to go get another job since leaving my 10+ year corporate job - and the best thing is I'm working my business from home. Now, not everyone has to do things the way I do them - there are so many options in this business that it will work for anyone that is willing to be serious about making changes in their lives, is willing to learn and is teachable and most importantly is willing to do the work. You aren't going to make money doing nothing - this isn't a magic money maker. It is a real business and it takes real work and real effort.
For me personally, I am putting my money back into the business so that I can make my business grow faster. I am not keeping profits for myself yet - but I will get to that point. Not everyone does it that way, but I know that for me to succeed personally - growing my business is the most important factor in my life other than my family and it is what will give me the financial freedom I desire in the years to come. I am not expecting some magic money maker - I am putting in the time and effort, I am plugging into the training that is available to me, I am using the products (and loving them!) and I am investing back into my business.
One thing that I know my friends and family are aware of is that I keep getting job interview offers for corporate positions - and guess what? I have turned most of them down. If I decide to go back to working a full-time job it won't be because I have to have the money but because it is a job that I really want to do and will be something I love. I don't have to settle - and if I do go back to work, I will use the money to invest more into growing my business because the more I grow it the faster the profits will start filling my pocket book and the more secure my future will be.
I'm not trying to sell anyone on the business side - just sharing my personal results and letting everyone know that even though I was very skeptical at first - it is paying off and I've only been doing this since the last week of June. Think of what may come in 6 months - a year from now - if it keeps going the way it is going. I am not dreaming of success guys - I'm making it happen. Period.

Quick Update
This is going to be short and sweet. I weighed in at 149 today. This is the first day in over 3 or 4 years (maybe more I really can't remember) that I have weighed under 150 lbs! I am so excited and it is all thanks to the Herbalife products. I feel better. I sleep better. And now I'm starting to look better too!
My skincare program is off to a slow start - I think it is because I was out in the dusty garage all weekend for the garage sale (which went very well by the way - and we had several people interested in signing up for the newsletter after watching the presentation) and the dirt/dust and heat played havoc on my allergies and skin. I didn't breakout anymore but I did get some red spots - but not as many as I used to get when in situations like that. However, they are already diminishing and my skin looks really good compared to how it normally does in the summer. My favorite thing about the skincare line so far is the scent of the cleanser. It smells really good. I like using it. I'm using it twice a day and I am using the mask once a week. I am about to add the night cream and eye gel to my product line but it will probably be next week before I order it.
David has lost 5 lbs. so far - we started seeing results when we added the protein powder to his shakes and he started taking aminogen, along with his other tablets, two times a day. He is drinking lots of water too. He said the best thing about the products for him is that his energy level continues to soar and he feels more focused than ever before.
I'll post new pictures of both of us later this week. I hope you all have a great evening!

Skincare - Let's Get Started!
So my skincare order came in last night and I couldn't wait to use it. I ordered the NouriFusion® Normal-Oily Cleanser and the NouriFusion® Clarifying Mask for All Skin Types to start with.
As you can see from the picture I posted above (that I took this morning), I have specific goals in mind for resolving my skin problems and reaching my desired results. In the picture, I do not have any make-up on and I had just washed my face with the cleanser to start my morning.
The cleanser has a great scent to it. That was the first thing I noticed when I used it. It didn't foam up too much - just enough to get the job done and it was easy to wash off. I used the mask last night too - it is a green clay mask that has a light scent and is easy to apply and wash off. I immediately felt the difference in my skin after using the mask - it was firmer and smoother than it has been in a long time. I trashed my other cleansers and my other facial masks last night after using the products because I was really impressed with my first day results. I used the cleanser again this morning and the scent was refreshing - especially starting my day out.
I will add the eye gel, toner and moisturizers to my arsenal soon - but I wanted to start with the types of products I use most at the house and go from there. I will compare all of the products I try to the tons of products that I have used over the years - from Olay, Neutrogena, Avon, Mary Kay, OTC and prescription products, cheap, expensive - you name it. I will keep you posted on my results and keep posting pictures so you can see my results for yourself.
A quick and exciting note - I weighed 150 lbs today!!!! I have officially lost 9 lbs since starting Herbalife. David lost a few lbs too - but we'll talk about our weight loss results in another post later this week.

I ordered my products today and should have them this week. I'll let you know how they are as soon as I start the program. As far as weight - I weighed in at 152 today!!!! Another pound lost and another 3 1/2 inches gone!!! Seriously. I'm even posting a picture below to show you my waistline, guys - I'm not skinny-minnie here but I'm losing weight and you can tell! He is maintaining his weight right now, which is better than gaining more weight; however, his goal is to get buffed up and we are going to make it happen with the help of Herbalife. I'm the first 'project' and after I reach my goal weight, we are going to start on his. Keep reading future blogs to learn about his success.

Whew - It Has Been A Busy Busy Busy Month!
David and I have been gone most of the week. We had a family reunion in Madill, Oklahoma last weekend and visited some family in North Texas while we were there (Thanks Randy & Wanda for letting us stay at your house while we were up that way). The picture below is a picture of David and I at the family reunion.
Then we came home for one night and left again to go celebrate our anniversary by camping at Big Shell on the National Seashore in Texas. The picture below is David & I at the beach.
The first thing I want to say is that while we were traveling we were still able to make and drink our shakes. We bought a cheap inverter for the vehicle so that we could change our vehicle power outlet into an AC/DC outlet. We plugged up the Magic Bullet Blender into the inverter and made our shakes driving down the road on our way to the family reunion. We made our shakes in the Jeep right there on the beach with no electricity! It was easy to do and it is awesome that these products are so portable. Not to mention that they fueled our days and gave us more energy so were able to do more activities such as kayaking, fishing and walking on the beach.
The second thing I want to note is that I am now at 153 and I have lost another 4 inches! That means that I have lost 7 lbs and 10 inches since I started Herbalife only 4 weeks ago! Since I am having such great results and I feel so much better, I have amped up my products by moving to the Ultimate program. I want to lose the last 28 lbs fast - the fastest way possible - so that by the holidays, I will be at my goal weight. I know I can do it with these products. They are awesome.
David is maintaining his weight right now. We are still working on consistency in his program but he has noted that he has an extreme level of improvement in his energy level and he feels better throughout the day - in addition, his digestive system is regulating and that has been a battle for him for a while. These products are great for anyone having digestive problems and have helped me in that way as well.
As for the business side - we gained an additional 4 customers in the last week. Our business is growing daily and it is really exciting.

Read Me - Great Update!
Sorry it has been a while since we have written. It has been busy since the 4th of July. In addition to having family 4th of July celebrations, we have also had 2 birthday parties and our grand opening party. I am also hosting a Scentsy party tonight.
I haven’t talked about the business side of our Herbalife Independent Distributorship since my original post. Our first month in business officially started July 1st. We signed up the last part of June but we were in training and weren’t really focusing on the business itself. The training was intense and very helpful. Especially parts 1 & 2, which focused on the retail side of the business. Part 3 takes the business to a different level and focuses on building out your teams, which is important to growing your business but since it is a product based business – we want to focus our business on the products as our priority and building our team as a secondary portion of the business. For the retail side of things – our product sales are growing locally and we are starting to see customers from other states on our sites. It is awesome knowing that we have a quality product that can change people’s lives for the better and being able to provide these products to our customers brings us great satisfaction. Our grand opening party was small but successful and hopefully we have gained a few lifetime customers from introducing them to the products. I know that as a consumer of the products, I am hooked on the products themselves and will continue to use the products regardless of how our business goes (even though the business side is very promising right now). I believe we have a bright future in this company – especially since we are digging our heels in and really taking this as a serious part of our lives. I will keep you posted on our business progress periodically but mostly, I want to focus this blog on the products themselves since that is the basis of our business.
Now on to the product results. Let’s start with David. He says he has phenomenal energy right now and feels so good during the day. He says that he doesn’t have the afternoon fatigue like he used to have and he is better focused at work. As far as weight loss, he has lost another pound – totaling 2 lbs since he started the program and he has lost a total of 6 ½ inches from his body. I don’t have an updated picture of David to post right now. David is losing weight a little slower than I am and I think it is because he is having trouble being consistent with his product usage at his jobsite since he doesn’t have access to a refrigerator to keep his shakes cold for lunch and he doesn’t consistently take his Thermo-Bond when he drinks beer in the evenings and on weekends. Beer is very fattening – even light beer and Thermo-Bond can help reduce the fat absorption when taken regularly. To improve David’s results on the products, he is going to start focusing on consistency with his product usage and find a way to keep his shakes cold so he can have his at lunch time. Any suggestions on how to keep them cold without a fridge would be appreciated – we have tried an ice-chest and insulated cups. Neither is working in this Texas heat. I am even considering the purchase of a portable camping fridge that hooks into your vehicle – but I haven’t priced them yet. I will let you know what we find that works but am eager to hear everyone’s suggestions.

You can tell the products are making me thinner and folks, I cannot tell you through this blog how good I feel. I feel amazing! I too, am going to work on my consistency of taking the products because I tend to take them later in the day and forget about them in the mornings sometimes. So I know that if I set an alarm on my cell phone, I’ll remember to take them in the mornings and be more consistent. And maybe get faster results – but I’m happy with the results I’m getting because I am actually seeing and feeling the difference. It feels great and that makes me a satisfied customer.
I am still struggling with my skin but I am taking the Cell-U-Loss and I can tell that it is making a difference. My breakouts are not as severe or as often but I am still having them a couple of times a month. I am about to place my order for our Herbalife skincare line to reduce my breakouts and the appearance of my pores. At 34, I’ve had worse breakouts than in my teens! I’ve been to dermatologist, I’ve tried Proactive, I’ve tried high-end/high-cost products, I’ve tried Oil of Olay, Avon – you name it, I’ve tried it! The only thing I haven’t tried is this Herbalife line of products and I will be using them soon. I like to give every product I try at least 30 days – so once I get the products ordered, I’ll let you know that I’ve started them and will update you on those results periodically as well. I have heard good things about these products so I am expecting to see good results. If they work for me, I might even con my husband into trying them but we’ll see how that goes :)

Lastly, I want to talk about my sleep problem. I mentioned it several times before and told you that I would tell you about the Herbalife Sleep now product after I had tried it for a while. First, let me explain my sleeping problem. I can’t fall asleep. Once I’m asleep – I’m good and hate waking up. But it takes me 2 to 4 hours just to fall asleep after I lay down. My brain won’t shut up. I’ve tried all the OTC products and a couple of prescriptions. One of two things always happens – they make me fall asleep but I feel groggy and crappy all day the next day or they wire me up even more and I can’t fall asleep at all. The only product that I found that consistently works is Nyquil and that is a flu medicine – so it’s not good for me to be shoving down my throat on a regular basis. My coach told me try Herbalife’s Sleep Now, so I ordered it. At first, I was not impressed guys. I took it with my other supplements at night and I felt tired but still couldn’t fall asleep. I couldn’t get my brain to shut-up. The sleepy feeling quickly wore off before I could fall asleep. But I did feel good the next day and was not groggy. I even mentioned this to a few of my friends on Facebook who were talking about Ambien. After a few attempts with the Sleep Now product, I found what I was doing wrong. I was taking the Sleep Now with my other supplements – including my Total Control. Well, Total Control is a metabolism booster and can increase energy. So basically, I was canceling out my Sleep Now with Total Control. Since I found that out, I have removed Total Control from the supplements I take at night and I don’t take the Sleep Now until after I take a warm bath and am ready to go to sleep. I take it as soon as I get out of the tub and then go lay down while I’m relaxed. The results are much better. I feel sleepy and am actually able to quiet my mind long enough to fall asleep. Once I’m asleep, I stay asleep (but that wasn’t really a problem for me to begin with) and when I wake up, I feel good all day. I am starting to love this product even though I had my doubts at first.
My regimen is now to drink my shake in the morning and take my supplements (Multivitamin, Cell-U-Loss, Total Control and the Cell Activator) with an 8 oz glass of Herbal Tea Concentrate; drink my shake at lunch and again take my supplements (Multivitamin, Cell-U-Loss, Total Control and the Cell Activator) with an 8 oz glass of Herbal Tea Concentrate; sometimes have a healthy snack with Thermo-Bond (veggies or something high-protein/low-carb/low-calorie); eat a healthy meal and take my supplements (Multivitamin, Cell-U-Loss and Thermo-Bond) with a glass of water; and to end my night with a warm bath followed by my Sleep Now and a glass of water. This is what I’m sticking with for a while and I will try some of the other products after I give the current products time to work and give me the results I am looking for. Consistency is the key with these products and I’m going to be consistent because I want to change my life. I want to be healthy and beautiful. I want to age well, feel good as I age and most importantly be healthy about doing it.

Short & Sweet
Keeping this short today - hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!

So as promised, David weighed in at 173 yesterday. He has lost 2 lbs in 8 days. His goal is to first lose the beer belly and then to start building muscle weight. We are going to try and find a good home gym system for him to start working out with. He wants a Bowflex system, which we will probably get in a month or two.
We are working slowly - but our goal is to take it off and keep it off. We aren't doing this as a fad diet - infact, neither of us view this as a diet at all. We are trying to make lifestyle changes to improve our lives for the long haul.

Losing Weight - Really!!! Products - Day 5 - 8
Good morning everyone - or afternoon almost. I feel great today. I got on the scale and weighed in at 155 today! That is 4 lbs. total that I have lost since I started the products on 06/25 - so 4 lbs. in 8 days. Not fast results for some - but you have to consider (and I know you probably don't want to know this but it is an important factor when considering weight loss) that I had my 'time of the month' last week too so that added to my extra weight and slowed me down a little in losing weight.
I have been drinking my shake for breakfast and lunch, taking my supplements 3 times a day and taking the Thermo-bond before I eat or drink anything that isn't through Herbalife or isn't water. I drink the Herbal Tea Concentrate like crazy - I love the taste and the energy it gives me - and I feel wonderful!!!!! I have even noticed a difference in my complexion. I'm not breaking out as bad and my skin is starting to look better...it isn't perfect...but if you knew me before you would see the difference! Guys - I am not telling you these things because David and I started a business. I am telling you these things because the products are really making me feel good. You guys are my friends, families, neighbors, community members, etc. I promise that I wouldn't make this stuff up. Check out the pictures I took this morning! You can see the difference.
The only thing that I have noticed about the products so far that I can say is 'bad' but not too bad is that you have to take the supplements when you drink your shake or eat something - don't take them alone on an empty stomach - I did one day and it made me a little nauseous until I ate something and that fixed it. But that is the case with most of these types of products on any market. And with the Herbal Tea Concentrate - don't take it too late in the evening if you want to go to sleep. It is a great product and it does give you energy without the jitters but it will energize you and make it hard to fall asleep because you'll want to be up doing stuff. I have to quit drinking it by 6PM if I'm planning on going to bed around 9 or 10 - but I have sleeping trouble anyway - which I will talk about in my next post.
David is out helping his sister move so I haven't been able to get his weight today but as soon as he gets home, I'll have him jump on the scale and I'll take some more pictures of him and then I'll post again!

Products - Day 1 - 4
A big part of our journey is to become healthier people. We both need to lose weight and get better nutrition for our bodies. David wants to gain muscle but lose his beer belly. I want to go back to the weight I was at in my early 20's before I had injured my knee. You can see our before pictures in this blog. These are our 'BEFORE HERBALIFE' pictures. We will update these pictures every once in a while to show our progress - successes or failures.
So what products are we using? How are we using them?
Both David & I have started out using the Quickstart System. This system consists of a healthy meal replacement shake called Formula 1, a multivitamin called Formula 2, a product called Cell Activator also known as Formula 3 and an herbal tea concentrate. In addition, we are both using a product called Thermo-bond and I am using a product called Cell-U-Loss.
We have simply replaced two meals a day with the Formula 1 shake and we take our supplements 3 times a day, except for the Thermo-bond. We take the Thermo-bond whenever we eat solid foods or drink anything with sugars in it – or in David’s case, when he drinks beer. Since neither of us really ate breakfast to begin with, we basically added a shake to our morning routines for breakfast and we have a shake for lunch. David takes 3 scoops of the shake mix to help him beat afternoon munchies and prevent him from being hungry at lunch time. I take 2 scoops of the shake mix in mine and I stay full all day. We mix our shakes with Vanilla Soy Milk but you can mix it with a number of things. I have some great shake recipes that I can share for anyone that is interested. One last thing I will say about the shakes is that they taste GREAT! We are using the Cookies-N-Cream and it is delicious. I was doubtful when I first started but after that first sip – I was hooked.
We eat dinner every night and try to make it a well balanced and healthy meal. In addition to the shakes, you are supposed to drink lots of water – but anyone who knows me knows that I hate drinking water. So instead, I can drink the herbal tea concentrate and still get my water in for the day. The herbal tea concentrate gives you lots of energy (not bouncing off the wall type of energy – but mental clarity and you feel more motivated to accomplish things) and fights fatigue. I must say that my favorite product so far is the herbal tea.
The supplements – the multivitamin and the Cell Activator and the Cell-U-Loss – are all really good too. The multivitamin is packed with nutrition and provides you with your daily essentials. The Cell Activator helps your body absorb the proper nutrients at the cellular level so you are getting all the good stuff in all the right places. The Cell-U-Loss is the one that I picked for myself because it is good for your skin and is said to help clear up skin problems such as breakouts, in addition to the fact that it is a weight-loss enhancer.
So how are we doing?
On the first day, David weighed in at 175 lbs. His goal is to be at 200 lbs. - but in solid muscle weight - not the beer belly he has now. I weighed in at 159 lbs. and my goal is to be at 125 or a little less.
On the third day, David weighed in at 174 lbs and I weighed in at 158 lbs. Three days and we are already seeing results. Yes - it is only 1 pound but it is 1 pound less than before, not more.
As far as how we feel, David says he has a lot more energy and isn't getting tired in the middle of the day like he did before. Me, I feel wonderful. I haven't had headaches like I had been having, I feel so much happier and less grumpy, and I also do not have the fatigue that I used to have. We both have a lot more energy and feel better overall than we did before we were using the products. I must really say that I am impressed with the product results and taste so far. I’m glad I found Herbalife.
There are a lot of healthy products that you can get through Herbalife that could potentially change your health for the better. David and I are going to put them to the test as we continue down this journey to better health. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Introduction to our journey
After being voluntarily unemployed since May of 2010 (only 2 full months from this post) I was starting to feel a little guilty for not helping with the financial responsibilities in our household. My husband, the current breadwinner in our household, tells me constantly that I don’t have anything to feel guilty about, but it doesn’t stop me from feeling guilty for spending his money, which he assures me is our money. Instead of getting another job at a large corporation and working to make someone else rich, my husband wanted me to find a way to start our own business – so that we could start putting the profits into our own pockets. To make a very long story as short as possible - after a lot of research, a few lost dollars, and digging through and deciphering numerous scams, we came across an advertisement for a health and wellness business that turned out to be Herbalife.
My husband and I researched the company and its products and we found both good stuff and bad stuff out there. We talked to customers who use the products and found that they were all happy with the products that they used. For some, the products seemed to have turned their lives around, for the better. The bad stuff we heard was more about the business side of it – a lot of information saying it was a scam. However, after all of our digging and talking to people and finding and interviewing a few local Herbalife Independent Distributors, we decided this business opportunity was not a scam and that it was one of those opportunities that you get out of it what you put into it. So, we decided to dive in and give it a try. We figured it was like a chance at winning the lottery – you can’t win if you don’t play. Plus, my favorite quote fit in well here: “If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.” ~ Sri Krishna
We weren’t looking for a get rich quick scheme. We simply wanted different results from our careers. We wanted to be independent and in charge of our future – not slaving for someone else who indirectly controls your financial future by controlling your wages. We wanted to find a life of our own – one that we could truly enjoy. We were ready to try something new and hopefully get new results for our lives.
We knew that we were willing to work long and hard hours – we just wanted to do it for ourselves and not someone else. We knew that we were willing to learn new things and do what it takes to make those lessons sink in. And most of all we knew that we were willing to go above and beyond to find the path to the life we wanted to lead.
This is why we got started as Herbalife Independent Distributors and though we are new to the business, we are already building our business and working toward a brighter future. We started this new journey in our lives last week (June 21, 2010) and we have been immersed into the training system and mentoring to show us how to run and succeed in our new business. When you join the team, you aren’t thrown to the wolves and left to manage the business on your own – like other work from home opportunities. No, this is different. You are assigned a coach/mentor that will be there to hold your hand throughout the lifetime of your business. You have a network of people and a vast array of tools to help you be successful and grow your business. The training experience has been wonderful and both my husband and I are glad we signed up and invested in our future with this company. We believe it will be the door that will lead us down the path to our dreams.
